Scaling

A more extensive form of plaque removal than standard teeth cleaning, scaling involves scraping plaque off the tooth surface. By eliminating plaque, our hygienists and periodontist enable your teeth and gums to recover from bacterial presence. Scaling is usually painless as it focuses on the crown and may be performed without anaesthesia. However, if significant plaque accumulation is present, local anaesthesia might be beneficial.

Deep Scale and Root Planing

While scaling targets the tooth crown, root planing addresses plaque hidden below the gum line.
